This form from the #royalarchives records the Service of Major Edward Basil Blogg, a Clerk from the Lord Chamberlain's Office at Buckingham Palace, who was killed in action on 16 March 1916. During the First World War, 694 men and one woman from the Royal Household and private estates enlisted for military service. Following the war, a book entitled 'War Service Roll of the Members of The Royal Household and Estates of the King and the Queen’ was created as written memorial for all those who served. To commemorate #armistice100 , every day until Remembrance Sunday we'll be sharing items from the Royal Archives that document how The Royal Family, and the Royal Household played a part in the War – follow the link in our bio.
