#transparency #bosswoman If I had to think about my New Year’s resolutions, I’d promise to
myself to become that brave woman who would proudly wear one of the Comme Des Garçons fashion creations. I’d promise to say the story about myself without saying a word. I dream to accomplish it with no self-judgement and no self-criticism. ️ Comme Des Garçons Spring 2019 RTW collection, created by the company’s Empress Rei Kawakubo, clearly illustrates what’s deep inside of every woman: self-limitations, limitations of the body form, self-criticism. The runway was extremely personal for the designer as she knows how is it to be the lady-boss for the famous Japanese fashion brand for decades. Extremely moving, inspiring and fascinating show! As Champagne corks are popping-out for the holiday season, I want to make a wish for each and every woman: always be brave, dream, and enjoy your own unique beauty! Be precious to yourself and your loved ones! Happy 2019! @commedesgarcons

#ballgown There are three things you can watch forever: fire burning, water flowing and other people working. ‍There is one more thing I'd add to watch forever - exceptionally stunning gowns from Giambattista Valli’s Spring 2017 Haute Couture Collection. Extravagant dresses were constructed out of countless yards of tulle and mousseline yet look minimalistic at the same time. Modern haute couture inspired by the great imperial era. Is the ball gown back? @giambattistavalliparis

#fashionhistory #lingerie #corset The Nineteenth century is known for changes in silhouette by using a range of the important elements such as crinolines, bustles and corsets. Fashion and technological innovation changed the shape of late nineteen-century corsets. As the bustle replaced the crinoline and bodices contoured the figure, corsets became longer to achieve the desired hourglass silhouette. They encased the abdomen and enveloped the hips, and the amount of whalebone also increased to give a smoother outline and help prevent wrinkling of the fabrics. Colorful satin corsets became fashionable in the 1880s, challenging the more muted tones of earlier years. Although it was not meant to be seen, except in private, the attention to detail shows the importance placed on corsetry in a woman's wardrobe. The straight busk on this corset creates a vertical line from bust to abdomen which complemented the less rounded, more angular silhouette of the 1890s. It was also supposed to relieve pressure on the internal organs while supporting the stomach. A hook is attached at the center front to prevent the petticoat from riding up and causing extra bulk at the waist.
As an awareness increased of the damage caused by wearing corsets, many attempts were made to modify construction. A distinctive shape of the corsets was heralded as an important innovation, increasing comfort, preserving health, reducing unsightly bulges and enhancing the figure. It appeared on fashionable models until the 1890s and was known by imaginative names such as the spoon🥄, pear , envelope and patent taper busk. In front, the corset is fastened with a two-part busk and metal fastening. This style of closure enabled the wearer to put on or remove her corset without help and was widely used throughout corset-making industry. The design worked so well that it became the standard type of metal corset fastening and is still used today. Do you wear corsets? 🦋🦋#sexyfashion

It’s all good, even know its not perfect. Everything is perfect in its own way. ️Valentino’s pre-fall 2019 collection was presented in Tokyo at the end of November, and was inspired by the Japanese technique “wabi-sabi”. 🇯🇵 In traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi is a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Wabi-sabi is hard-nosed and realistic: nothing lasts, nothing is perfect. Accepting these hard facts opens the door to the realistic appreciation of a deeper beauty. Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli translated ancient Japanese art into the asymmetrical silhouettes, ruffles, the colors, and the motifs. Stunning runway remained true to Valentino’s fashion vision while paying homage to Japanese culture. With those spectacular looks, Valentino celebrated a modern idea of the diversity of a beauty through wabi-sabi - often the most broken pieces become the most precious. ️️ @maisonvalentino

#revengedress #diana Diana - the Princess of people’s hearts, so madly adored by the public The ultimate royal fashion icon, so deeply missed by the fashion world. She shocked the world by wearing a figure-hugging black little dress, designed by Christina Stambolian, to the Vanity Fair annual fundraising event on June 29, 1994It was the first time when people had seen the new confident and independent Diana. The dress was designed for the Princess three years prior to the event. However it was Diana’s choice for that particular date, because she wanted to look “like a million dollars” on that night, and she did. She set up her own fashion rules, and that’s when “The Revenge Dress” was born. The perfect explanation of the dress’ title by the leading auction boss Kerry Taylor has nothing but a brilliant understanding of this history making outfit choice:
“We called that “The Revenge Dress”. She wore that the same evening Prince Charles confessed to his adultery with Camilla. Diana had a public engagement at the Serpentine gallery and while some would have been like “I can’t face it this evening” Diana went out in that dress looking drop dead gorgeous. She made a big statement right there.”
Unbelievable, gorgeous, truly loved and missed - the only one Princess Diana! I can’t take my eyes off of her!️ #princessdiana #littleblackdress

Is #logomania going to be here for a while⁉️ I would definitely lean towards yes when answering to this question Luxury fashion brands nowadays are looking at the street style fashion more and more, so there is tendency for the logos to stay trendy for some time ️There is a logo look for everyone - you can still be classy just wearing a Chanel logo necklace or a Gucci belt, or you can dress in logos from the bottom to the top. Either way people feel more emotionally united by wearing logos, and feel like they belong to some sort of a club, a clan or a union. And which logo are you craving for? 🧡 #logos

Every beautiful day is fulfilled with plenty beautiful moments of luck. Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra collection has travelled through years with its iconic timeless collection. A four-leaf clover design was introduced in 1968, and remains emblematic symbol of luck of the famous brand for 50 years. Alhambra motif got its inspiration from the Moorish tiles of Alhambra Palace in Granada, Spain. It was also meant to function like a lucky charm. Simple, elegant and delicate style of Alhambra collection continues to renew itself through years, and is adored by different generations. I picked my lucky Alhambra charm with a gorgeous white-gold diamond watch from Van Cleef&Arpeks Charms collection. What’s your favorite clover-like shape Alhambra jewelry piece? @vancleefarpels

#sensation Someone is definitely going to wake up and feel like a lucky queen on Thursday morning!!!The Queen Marie Antoinette's Pearl, a diamond-and-pearl pendant, owned by queen Mattie Antoinette, was sold for a sensational price of $36.2 million #omg by Sotheby's auction house in Geneva today. The queen's jewelry also included a set of pearl and diamond earrings, a diamond brooch, a natural pearl and diamond necklace, monogrammed, diamond-set ring with a lock of Marie Antoinette's hair... Some of the Marie Antoinette jewelry hadn't been seen in public for 200 years - until now. Marie Antoinette was an Austrian princess before her marriage to France's King Louis XVI. Her extravagant lifestyle turned her into a hate figure in the years leading up to the French Revolution, when many French people could barely afford to feed their families. People loved her, people hated her. The treasures were secretly whisked out of Paris in 1791 as King Louis XVI, his queen and their children prepared to escape during the French Revolution. They were captured, and both Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were later tried, condemned, and guillotined in 1973. The sale that just occurred, is, undoubtedly, a sale of the 21st century, because there was only one Marie Antoinette! Would we be able to know who is the new “royal owner”? ️ #marieantoinette
