Ever since I was a kid, my parents were very particular about the kind of friends I had. Back then it felt like intrusion in my life, but just like everything else, I understand the importance of it now.

We generally never like to listen from someone else that we are wrong. Yet, that's what we need the most to grow. People who can show us the reality, no matter how ugly. I cannot be more grateful for having such people when I needed to see the reality the most.
When I needed to understand that I am acting out of my ego and hence doing i justice to my practice.

The lesson I learnt was never to let go of such people, who make you face the hard reality, let you fall down because it's necessary for you to learn how to pick yourself up and then help and inspire you to walk ahead stronger.

Working out is so much more than a weight loss tool.

Of course, starting out my journey I used working out as just that: a weight loss tool. It has since become something that is a part of me and something so important to me that I actually get sad when I'm not able to do it for a while. To me, working out is my stress reliever, a way for me to build strength in muscles that are weak and in pain, and it has become a form of therapy and a way for me to get in tune with my body.

I am in no way saying I am good at working out or am calling myself an expert by any means. I still can't do burpees without absolutely dying. I still can't do a pull-up. Running still makes me want to fall down on the ground and cry like a baby but I still do it! Because guess what...this is a marathon, not a sprint.‍️

So tell me...what are some exercises that you have been doing for a while now that you STILL aren't very good at, but you do them anyway?? Because as the saying goes, practice makes perfect! Well maybe not perfect, but better than the first time you did it!️

Don’t knock it till you try it!!! Check your “what will people think of me” at the door. Who cares?!?! You’re at the gym to workout and get results. And this ab workout had my abs on fire and sweating like crazy 
Don’t rest between sets if you can; walk in the treadmill instead. Keep speed low at about 1.2. But start at lower speed to get used to the moves.

Spring has been very up and down for me both with available time and motivation, but I have been trying my best to work with what I’ve been given. I haven’t been as consistent as I would like to be, but that’s okay because I have been doing what has been the best for me. 
I go in stages of strictly following the #tfnteam workouts and making my own around lifts I have been missing. I hope to become more consistent with my tfnteam workouts, but if mixing it up is what gets me to the gym then mix it up I shall. The last thing I want is for my workouts to feel boring and become a chore instead of my “me time”. Do what you have to in order to keep at your goals. Sometimes that is taking a break, sometimes it is switching it up, and sometime it is just getting through it. Just keep going and remember that it is okay to stumble and “fall off the wagon” as long as you keep getting back on. Chase your goals down!

🤔Can we talk about one of my pet peeves for a second?? One of the things I constantly hear around the gym this time of year.... ‘I need to get my summer body’  or ‘I need to be bikini ready’. I get it, we all have goals.  And goals are fine because they give us something to work towards.  And we strive to be the best version of ourselves.  The problem comes once we start looking at ourself in a negative way, that negative image stays with us and we start to pick out every flaw.  I want to be happy and healthy.  Screw society for having such big unrealistic expectations, especially for women.  Don’t be so hard on yourselves!
You don’t have to be thin, have a six pack, flawless skin, or Carrie Underwood legs.  You are enough!  Exercise to be healthy and strong... not a size 2.  Keep it positive ladies!! ⭐️⭐️Move your body because you can.  Let exercise be a celebration of what your body can do, and be damn proud of it.  Fuel your body with proper nutrition.  Freakin enjoy life.  And Smile!, because when you do, you radiate beauty from within. ️

Leg press is another fundamental. You can mix up the stance quite a bit depending on whether you want to work more quads, hamstrings or glutes.

You can also point your toes in or out as well. Point them in slightly for outer quads and out for inner, but be careful not over-strain your knees.

In this video, I demonstrate a fairly high foot positioning with a close and medium stance and neutral toes.

Also, I usually save leg press for the tail end of my workouts, that way I can use most of my gas on the bigger lifts like barbell squats and deadlifts.

I am going to tell you exactly how I went from left to right.

The very first thing I did was HIRE A COACH.
I needed someone to tell me what to do and when. I also needed to  pay someone so that I would actually take this journey seriously. The free workout plans and free calorie calculators did not cut it for me. I’ve had coach for 3 years and investing in them has been the best investment I have ever made.

The second thing I did was NOT DRINK ALCOHOL This was my downfall. Empty calories.—
The third thing I did was TRACK MY FOOD INTAKE  The only style of eating that has proved to be sustainable was macro tracking. With those I was able to create my own meal plans. I learned so much about food this way and how to make this a lifestyle. I no longer have to depend on a coach for a meal plan.

The fourth thing I did was WORKOUT ‍️.I freaking love it. I train with weights, I do both  types of  cardio.

The fifth thing I did, was NOT CARING WHAT PEOPLE THINK. I got so much backlash when I made my lifestyle switch. I took time but I blocked those noises out. It’s so freeing not giving a flying f***

The sixth thing I did was CHANGE MY FRIENDS . I started friending those who’s health was a priority, who’s morals and values matched mine, who worked hard, did not drink excessively, and were positive and supportive.

The seventh thing I did was NEVER QUIT. Not one day have I stopped working on my health, becoming an IFBB Pro , and getting out of debt. Not one day did I say “I QUIT“ after I failed….and I have failed many times.

I was not born with great genetics. I was not born extra smart🤓 I was not raised with a lot of money. I was not the cool kid in school. I did not graduate college. Nothing was handed to me. Where there wasn’t a door to open, I busted down the wall.

I had every excuse in the book to remain fat and unhappy. But I took a stand for myself and said  I WILL NOT LET MY CIRCUMSTANCES DEFINE HOW I LOOK.

You can do the same.

 KB Split Clean (3 x 8 per side)⁣
 Alternating KB swings (3 x 12 total)⁣
 Ball slams (3 x 10) Sadly I don't look as graceful as Natacha doing these🤗
 Front squats (3 x 8)⁣
 Alternating diagonal setups (3 x 14 total): I kept my feet pinned down under something! I also didn’t record mine and had no idea how to explain it to you guys SO just including the queens video herself

so anyway I'll take these couple of days as a rest day...plus gives me time to job search & gym search because I might or might not move back to Arizona...
