What are some little moments in your day that make you feel proud of yourself? Sometimes, in my exhaustion and pain, I boost myself up by finding little things that make me proud.

For example, after working an exhausting 9 hour day full of cooking (which may not seem like much, but is a lot on a body that is still healing from surgery—yes my incision still isn’t fully healed), when all I wanted to do was come home and crawl under the covers, I managed to cook a nourishing dinner for myself.
.
It’s important to celebrate the little victories. It can be uplifting and energizing to acknowledge those wins, especially when we feel like we’re running out of fuel.

So melons, blueberries and grapes are full of antioxidants...so what’s an “oxidant” anyway?  They appear to be burglars and assassins from how I read it.  They are molecules that go around stealing electrons from other molecules and can kill cells if they damage enough molecules in those cells; modus operandi: oxidation. The extent of the damage depends on where those cells are in the body.  Well that’s compelling enough to make me eat fruit more regularly! .

So on the plate: jumbo rolled oats in unsweetened almond milk with date syrup, topped with melon, grapes, blueberries, linwoods ground flaxseed, brazil nuts, walnut, Q10 and cashew nuts. .

המרכיבים לרוטב:
2 קופסאות עגבניות שלמות (מהזן האיטלקי) 
1 בצל סגול מקולף, שלם
3 שיני שום מקולפות
30 גרם חמאה
כף אורגנו יבש
2 כפיות סוכר
כמה עלי בזיליקום טריים
 מלח ופלפל לפי טעם

אופן ההכנה:
1. מכניסים את כל המרכיבים בסיר קטן/בינוני. 2. מחממים על להבה בינונית עם מכסה סגור למשך 15-20 דקות. (מערבבים כמה שפחות) 
3. מכבים את האש, מוציאים את הבצל ובעזרת בלנדר ידני טוחנים הכל למרקם חלק. 
4. מערבבים יחד עם פסטה, מפזרים מעל קצת פרמזן מגורד ומגישים באהבה 
בתיאבון!.

Oui il est 13 heures et c’est un petit-déjeuner. Tout va bien 

Dans la gamme des pains, je demande la lean brioche 

La petite dernière (enfin sortie depuis quelques mois déjà) qui ne me tentait pas plus que ça puisque je suis plus pain salé (même si le pain à la caroube est un de mes coups de cœur) mais l’ayant eu en cadeau, pas trop le choix que de tester 

Elle est bonne, on dirait de la vraie brioche (comme dans mes souvenirs parce que ça fait très longtemps que j’en ai pas mangé) mais comme je m’en doutais, je n’en recommanderais pas. Contrairement aux pains, je ne pourrais pas la manger en deux trois jours. Comme certains diraient « ce n’est pas mon dada ».
Hop au congélateur et on sortira quand l’envie se fera d’un petit plaisir gourmand   Lean brioche confiture de pommes + Lean brioche fit crème

HEALTH UPDATE 

Had a phone call last night from my consultant Dr Beverley Hunt at guys & st Thomas’s and she has decided to move me from my clopidegrel tablets and put me on daily Fragmin injections.....it was weird having to inject myself (used to injecting others lol) but it’s actually easy just pinch ur tummy or thigh fat (which I have plenty of both ) and in goes the needle, as u push the plunger it stings like an absolute b**** and I felt sick but it’s over in a couple minutes. I’ve just got to watch out for any side affects or reactions but hopefully should be okay. I layered the bell pepper with lots of mozzarella and cheddar, interspersed with tuna chunks in olive oil. Flavoured with some pink H salt + Cumin, Moroccan Spice and Peri-Peri for some heat.

Uno studio del Dipartimento di Farmacia dell’Università Federico II di Napoli ha confermato quello che gli amanti della pizza sospettavano già da tempo: la pizza fa bene alla salute.
È stato dimostrato che se la pizza viene preparata con ingredienti di alta qualità e con olio extravergine di oliva, apporta benefici salutistici ai chi la consuma.
Vitamina C, carotenoidi, vitamina E, polifenoli e bioflavonoidi sono presenti in quantità elevate negli ingredienti della pizza.
Sono soprattutto il pomodoro e l’olio extravergine d’oliva ad apportare i maggiori benefici: il primo grazie alle fibre, all’antiossidante licopene e ai sali minerali di zinco, selenio, magnesio e potassio; l’olio invece conferisce al nostro corpo tutti i benefici dei grassi vegetali e dei polifenoli.
▪️Non privatevi quindi della pizza e, se ne avete voglia, toglietevi questo sfizio, senza esagerare ovviamente!

Un petit-déjeuner simple et healthy s’impose aujourd’hui. Après un week-end chargé en junkfood (ce qui nous arrive très rarement), je ne me sens pas top top niveau forme donc ça fait vraiment du bien de pouvoir manger ce style de déjeuner.

Per combattere la stitichezza, ecco alcuni consigli per correggere il proprio piano alimentare e ristudiarlo con l’ausilio di un medico specialista o di un nutrizionista:
▪️Assumere almeno una porzione di verdura ad ogni pasto, cotta o cruda. Tra le verdure cotte, preferibilmente lessate o cucinate al vapore, privilegiare spinaci, zucchine, broccoli e cavolfiori (da consumarsi con moderazione in caso di meteorismo, aumentando a poco a poco le dosi), fagiolini, melanzane e carciofi.
▪️Consumare ogni giorno 2-3 frutti di medie dimensioni, scegliendo soprattutto tra kiwi (al mattino a digiuno), pere, albicocche, fichi e prugne. Quando possibile mangiare la frutta con la buccia, o in alternativa cotta.
▪️A cena, includere un piatto in brodo o un minestrone di verdure, anche passato.
▪️Alternare i cerali raffinati, quali pane, pasta e riso, con quelli integrali
▪️Consumare almeno due volte a settimana i legumi. In caso di meteorismo preferirli passati o centrifugati.
▪️Includere nella propria dieta, ogni giorno, una porzione di yogurt o di latte fermentato.
▪️Aumentare l’apporto di liquidi a almeno 1.5-2 litri al giorno, bevendo preferibilmente acqua oligominerale naturale ma anche tisane o brodo.
▪️Limitare l’assunzione di alcool, tè e caffè (benché uno al mattino aumenti i movimenti intestinali).
▪️Evitare i formaggi fermentati, i fritti e i grassi di origine animale.

▪️Indicate in gravidanza e allattamento: le lenticchie sono un’ottima fonte di acido folico (vitamina B9).
