Guys, Strongman Training is my favorite by far. I’ve got a lot to learn but just getting my hands on the equipment and seeing what I can do was soooo awesome. 
I’ve never done a Log Press so today was a first. My competition is 195lbs, so I’m 40 lbs under but that’s ok, this is a weakness and my first time ever. 
Atlas Stones. I FUCKING LOVE STONES. The heaviest they had today was 215 lbs, but again, I’ve never done these. These are so fun to do because they’re so primal. Pick up Big Rock. That’s it. 
Farmer Frame was a staggering 540 lbs and I didn’t know that until after I lifted it. That wide grip is awkward and strange, but it’s kinda like a Trap Bar Deadlift, only heavier and worse.

Finally, a little bit of Yoke Conditioning because you can never have enough conditioning AND Yokes are one of my favorite Strongman implements. I was pretty tired when I got to these so I just pushed it.

What protein powder do you use?

If you aren't able to get in enough protein from whole foods daily choose a protein supplement based on the following.
-
Isolates: Are the purest source available & thus the most expensive as they contain concentrations of ≥90%. During isolate processing there is a significant removal of fat & lactose. As a result those who are lactose-intolerant can safely take whey protein isolate. Although the concentration of protein in isolates is the highest it often contains denatured protein due to its manufacturing. This involves breaking down the protein structure which though may result in a faster absorption, the losses of peptide bonds may reduce the effectiveness of the protein.

Concentrates: Whey protein concentrate processing removes water, lactose, ash & minerals leaving a powder with protein concentrations of ~80%. Also compared to isolates, concontrates contains more biologically active components & protein that make them more beneficial for athletes. Concentrates are usually the cheapest variations available but are higher in lactose thus not suitable for those lactose-intolerant.

Casein: Casein is a complete protein and has the ability to clot in the stomach. The ability to clot thus makes it very efficient in nutrient supply as it’s able to provide a sustained slow release of aminos into the blood stream, sometimes lasting for hours. This may be beneficial for those who go prolonged periods without eating however, like conentrates, it does contain more lactose & is also more expensive.

Today I really focussed on my squats. I’ve found that it’s best to slowly get back into your workout routine if you’ve missed it for a while rather than jumping back in immediately. Perfecting your form is especially important after being absent from the gym for a while because you can get a little sloppy (I know I can)! ⁣

My workout consisted of:⁣
- Barbell squats- 3 or 4 sets of as many reps as I could do⁣
- Box squats - 3 sets of 12 reps⁣
- Weighted barbell lunges- 3 sets of 10 reps on each leg⁣

I cut it a bit short today because of how much studying I have to do, but the timing worked perfectly because as I said before; it’s important to slowly get back into your workout routine if there’s been a (somewhat) significant absence. ⁣

Today was a hard day  not going to lie, it beat me up lmao . I did heavy-ish  deadlifts 2x2 370 lb 1x1 400lb was supposed to be two but it was a nope , back down sets 3x3 315 lb. Squats 4x3 225 lb, bench 2x5 225 lb, 4x1 265 lb. Got it all done but I didn't feel the best on any of it  but still glad I put in work . Dad did awesome and finally hit 280 lb on the trap bar to match his PR it's been a while since he hit that.
