Swipe to Find Momo Across Europe, in southern France and Italy. From romping around the cliffs of Napoli, to tugging ropes on the 18 hour ferry to Greece. I’ll never forget this part of the trip. The quaint and colourful shutters of Southern France, the leaning tower of Pisa, the hospital Van Gogh checked himself into, a winter wonderland in Tuscany. These are some of the many stops in our book you can pre-order now.

Also, before last photo is a shot of the van we had in Europe. I didn’t photograph it much because I genuinely had a bad relationship with it. But it got us around and in the end I sort of miss it. That photo was taken the last night we camped in Italy before hopping on a ferry to Greece.

We’re doing a promo right now, and you can win a video chat call with Momo and I, as well as a bunch of stickers and prints and stuff. Link in profile!

The romantic notion that all of this could be mine is not true. Not because I can’t afford it, but because I can’t lay claim to the air, the flora, the rock, and the soil. I can only stand on it for a moment, and in that moment, I hope I can remember to feel it.

Planning production finished product. I’m so happy to have a partner like @LGCanada who literally asked me to show how much of a geek for dogs I am and just create something original with my best dog Momo using the #LGG7ThinQ. Of course Momo was easy to work with even though he often stole the props. And a big thanks to my friend Helen who is brilliant and helped bring these concepts to life, and still accepted the challenge of wrangling treats and toys and dogs. All videos and photos were shot on the ThinQ. Swipe to see some process stuff! #Ad #GeekForDogs

@kitkat_ch ❤️❤️❤️

@anniset We can‘t believe it is almost one year since you pay us a visit! Time fliessss! 😱♥️ Big hug!!!

Portugal & Spain, the first chapter in Find Momo Across Europe. To fit these two countries into one chapter was actually impossible, so we gave you the best stuff. This is where our journey began. Lisbon, Porto, Lagos, Madrid, Toledo, Barcelona, Girona, Sevilla, Juzcar, and so many more little stops in between (Oh, can’t forget about visiting the monkeys in Gibraltar). Pre-order a copy and get ready for a trip with Momo. Heck who knows it might end up being my number one recommended book of 2019!?

No better backdrop. Well, in actuality, I guess what I mean is that there’s no better backdrop for this particular image than this particular backdrop. Because this specific location didn’t have a different backdrop at this precise moment, therefore it’s impossible for another backdrop from another place or time to be a better backdrop for this one if it isn’t. And I won’t get into the use of the word ‘better’. But all of that is neither here nor there. I love this particular backdrop from this particular moment. And the dog who‘s featured in a lot of my pictures.

Got some film back. One of those new year, new me things. I set a bunch of things in motion this month to kick off my new year on the best foot. I’ve been practicing meditation and that’s been shaping up, a consultation with a new therapist, I’m on track to reading one book a month, actively bringing myself back to the raw forms of my passions for creating by working more with film and putting pen to paper nightly, I’ve been free of intoxicants, but mainly I’ve been asking myself repeatedly: “is this good for people around me?” and “is this good for me?” I’m definitely overdoing it. Mostly sharing this on here for accountability. Let’s see how long I can keep this up.

One year ago today, Momo & I left Canada for 8 months in Europe. In that time we visited hundreds of destinations in 20+ countries and honed our European dog-travel skills. Over the next few weeks I’m gonna share some of my favourite excerpts from the book about the trip, my favourite dog-friendly stops (every chapter starts with a few of my favourites), stories, people, and places. There is SO much packed into this book it’s by far my favourite of the series.⁣
⁣
You can find all of the stuff I’m sharing and SO much more in the book, which you can pre-order now (link in profile).⁣

Finally got to check out the new cabins at @bodegacove. Bright, modern, they look amazing and I missed Galiano Island so much. We’re keeping cozy by the wood burning stove and ringing in the new year with sobriety and books. Who’s on the dry January train?

@ifitwags Looks super cozy!

New Year’s is pretty neat. It reminds of a function we’re capable of: to look back and to look forward. Not to hold our heads in shame at our failures or not to illuminate our egos in the glow our successes. Not to fear our future goals or cower at their grandeur. ⁣
⁣
It’s obvious why we do it: we look behind us at our failures to carry them as crosses, to be sure those muscles aren’t being neglected and atrophying. We look at our successes to tell us where we’ll fit best in the story of our future. We look forward at our goals to remind us where we need to plant our feet and what direction to steer our ship. And on this day, where an imaginary number counts up by one on our invented clock, we not only celebrate the explosive glow of our failures, our successes, and our goals, but also exercise the very practice of doing so. We can and should do this more than once a year.⁣
⁣
Thanks to all so deeply, for walking with us on this journey. I hope to meet you down the road as we all heal and grow and change.
