There’s a lot of info out there in cyberspace (like WebMD and Health.com) and what I have found is that it is hard to find wellness information that is trustable. It varies based on the individual and what will work for them may not work for someone else. I’ve heard tons of stories of people that had an issue or a loved one did, and it was really hard to find the right method or doctor or practitioner that could ACTUALLY HELP. ••
Get ready. I’ve partnered with the newest social network for wellness, @DaoCloud, to begin providing the ability for my colleagues within the community to become part of the most extensive network of holistic advice and wellness professionals on the planet. ••
@DaoCloud sets out to solve that problem of finding the right information and/or practitioner for your needs. We are helping the public find relevant information to their ailments, connecting them with similar users, and connecting the user base to practitioners that are best qualified to help them. So, in essence we are helping the world feel more alive and energized. For me, I suffered a severe traumatic brain injury in 2010, which led to short-term memory loss, reduced cognitive ability, speech problems — and it’s been difficult trying to find anyone that can help other than looking at CAT scans & MRIs (I’ve had multiple brain “experts” tell me that nothing was wrong). So as a person, I have been curious around that and have been learning more about different ways to heal past brain injuries. It's also free so everyone who is reading this should join. ••
And, if you’re a practitioner yourself, I’d love to speak with you about getting involved. The benefit for practitioners like us using @DaoCloud is that we get to connect with health seekers — people using the site to find answers to their ailments. Practitioners can also showcase our skills and receive valuable endorsements & testimonials from our clients & peers. This enables us to grow our ‘word of mouth’ presence, but online. Imagine “LinkedIn meets WebMD” for holistic health. It’s very powerful.
••
Shoot me an email charles@daocloud.com or send me a DM and we’ll chat to see if you’re a good fit for our vision.

Adventure is a path. Real adventure — self-determined, self-motivated, often risky — forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagine it. Your body will collide with the earth and you will bear witness. In this way you will be compelled to grapple with the limitless kindness and bottomless cruelty of humankind — and perhaps realize that you yourself are capable of both. This will change you. Nothing will ever again be black and white.

When you stop insisting how unfairly life works — your most insufferable realities begin to change. ~~
In the beginning, such a shift doesn’t transform external circumstances. Instead, it will shift your perceptions from being victimized by loss and change to being blessed by the growth and expansion each moment provides. If you stay the course, all degrees of inner expansion extend into your outer realities to transform life from the inside out. ~~
The first step is setting aside any belief of how unfairly life works. Perhaps in time, you will see that life is far too miraculous to be understood. This is the death of limitation and rebirth of eternal joy.

The past year or so I’ve been meditating just about every time before practicing yoga on my mat. I can say without a doubt the depth of my practice has increased tremendously. No more scatterbrain — the focus goes directly inward for the entirety of my practice. This is why I encourage you all to take time for yourself to move inward. Most days I meditate before I even get up out of bed in the morning. If I don’t, it sometimes seems a bit tougher to find the time. Not only that, if I do not meditate I am at this point able to see how much different my days go...and usually not for the better. ~~
This is why I am challenging you to meditate for 15-20 minutes before you even get out of bed, every day, for the rest of this year. Of course, I’ll never know if you do. But, what if what I’m saying is true and there actually could be some HUGE transformations in your life by simply taking the time out of your day for YOU? ~~
Have you found yourself at times in the past frazzled, your days blurry, and wishing things may have gone just a bit different throughout your day? If so, why not give meditation a shot?

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.

@meikeitiffany Beautiful scenery! My word! ✨

Many of us have become too attached to the postures and miss the whole basis of yoga. The purpose of yoga is to free the blockages of the mind and physical body. Releasing tensions of the body are capable only when the mind is at ease. But if we strain, stress, tense up, and lose focus of the breath...the yoga is lost. #Halasana

@katsabre Truth!

It is a mistake to think that moving fast is the same as actually going somewhere. My body has been pretty tight lately due to some changes in my training, so this morning I spent two hours, slow and steady, focusing on postures from the second series of the Ashtanga lineage. Listen to your body. If you need extra attention in one particular area — Accept it. Enjoy it. Don’t rush. Don’t force. Breathe. Smile. #Bhujangasana

Learning how to remain comfortable in uncomfortable situations has been the greatest gift I have ever given myself. That is what yoga teaches and ingrains in us. Sure, we handstand and contort our bodies in seemingly awkward positions. But, learning not to freak out, breathe calmly, and smile prepares us for just about anything that comes our way in daily life. ~~

@katechiffeygray_ Love this! And agree!

Oftentimes when I teach yoga classes, someone will come up to me beforehand and say, “I’m not very good at yoga”...
~~
To the novice, the practice of yoga is often perceived as primarily physical and is often misunderstood as such. From a cursory glance it appears to be merely a practice of moving the body in and out of postures, but this is a conclusion of great error. There is no “good” or “bad” yoga. It is an expression of your own practice, of your own personal progress.
~~
If given the opportunity you will transform your experience of life. Yoga allows us the opportunity to let go of the ego, to feel and embrace the truths we usually are blind to see...

STEPS TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE:

1. Stop complaining and appreciate how lucky you are every single day.
2. Embrace loneliness and reinvent yourself in the process.
3. Say goodbye to the people who don’t bring positivity into your life.
4. Commit to the goals you set and never look back.
~~
Been here in Panama the past week helping lead a wonderful yoga retreat up in the cloud forest. Holding space for meditation and leading an 80 minute asana class every morning, in addition to offering workshops and being a constant resource for the retreat goers, is invigorating yet somewhat mentally draining at the same time. So today I took some time to myself, a long hike along the river to meditate on how grateful and lucky I am to be in a position to do what I love and spread that love & knowledge to others daily. I encourage you to find your passion and spread the love too. ~~

@creatingcharleneelva So true 🙏🏻

@smallkit2you I really enjoyed you “side note” 🙌 yoga is such a mind body awareness exercise and teaching our students that the pose they achieve is the one their body is needing as they go through their journey is such a powerful self acceptance tool that far reaches beyond the yoga mat. Fantastic message and picture!

If you have time to breathe, you have time to meditate. Having just finished my own session as the sun set, I can’t begin to express the shift I feel both mentally and physically after moving inward. Linking the body with the mind through breath has transformed my life. Know there is no right or wrong if you are a beginner. Your process will make its way to the surface through time. Just take the time — 10, 15, 20 minutes to yourself right now and allow the space for you to experience YOU. My process is consciously and continuously bringing my attention to the breath moving in and out of the body. When the mind goes away, I simply recognize that it has gone away and bring it back. Your mind will drift — just bring it back, again & again.

Looking back for balance; to remember how far I’ve come and to keep me rooted in the present moment knowing exactly how hard I’ve worked to get where I am.
~~
The past couple years have been an extremely eye-opening journey. I left the fast-paced, ‘stable’ corporate life to fully embrace this spiritual path of tranquility. Threw myself headfirst into this lifestyle with the vision of peace, community, and spreading the love of healing to individuals and businesses around the globe. After spending significant time all over Latin America, I’ve fallen in love with and adopted the country of Ecuador as my new home, and they have also accepted me (to a point – I’m still the town gringo). I’ve found myself on a new road in life and am astonished of how it happened so quickly!
~~
Today I have very, very, exciting news. Beginning in November, we will be hosting bi-weekly, 5 day long transformational adventure retreats at our most tranquil property here in the Ecuadorian Andes. Are you looking to harmonize yourself in mind & body? To be inspired to find a new road? To feel better physically and mentally? Invite transformation into your life and join us. Step by step, we’ve opened this road to enlightenment with the intention to help others find their dharma as we found our own. LINK IN BIO
