Katie Sandwina (1884 - 1952) was an Austrian strongwoman who stood 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) and weighed 200 lbs (91 kg). In the beginning of her career, Katie's father would offer 100 marks to any man who could defeat her in wrestling. No man ever succeeded, but she did meet her husband, Max Heymann, in one of those matches and they remained married for 52 years.

She soon moved to NYC, where she defeated strongman Eugene Sandow (the father of bodybuilding) in a weightlifting competition. Sandwina was able to lift 300 lbs of weight over her head while Sandow struggled to even lift it to his chest.

Throughout the remainder of her life, Sandwina worked for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus in the United States. Her performances consisted of bending steel bars, holding her position while four horses pulled her, and lifting her husband (165 lbs) over her head with one hand.

One reporter, Marguerite Martyn, described Sandwina's performance in St. Louis, Missouri in 1911. At the moment she was twirling her husband about in dizzy circles above her head . . . . Carelessly, laughingly, she tosses her husband about as though he were not flesh and bone, but merely an effigy of inflated rubber. And he is no insignificant husband, either.

Fitness has come a long way!️ Perfect (1985) is a movie starring John Travolta who plays a reporter for Rolling Stone, investigating a prominent L.A. businessman who has been arrested for dealing drugs. Meanwhile he's also looking into health clubs and how they've become the singles bars of the 80s. He begins a romance with one of the aerobics instructors (Jamie Lee Curtis) at a club called The Sports Connection. However, she dumps him when she finds out he's just there to publish a story criticizing the establishment.

The movie was nominated for 3 Golden Raspberry Awards, which included Worst Actor (John Travolta), Worst Supporting Actress (Marilu Henner) and Worst Screenplay. Quentin Tarantino is quoted as saying the movie was greatly underappreciated.
